About Ora et Labora
The Ora et Labora is a 'skutsje', a sailing boat of the type 'tjalk'. Skutsjes were built in Friesland, in the north of The Netherlands.
The Ora et Labora was built in 1912 by Barkmeijer in Dokkum. It was used as a cargo-vessel until the 1950's, after which it was remodeled into a recreational ship. Since the late 1970's the Ora et Labora is sailing in Zeeland, the south-western part of The Netherlands.
Home port is Brouwershaven.
