About openLENS
This pool aims to highlight the challenges and opportunities for photographers interested in documenting interactions in public space today. It complements a debate on photography, privacy and the public at the Battle of Ideas festival in London on 1 November 2008.
Against a backdrop of growing regulations and informal restrictions being placed upon photographers, it is important to reaffirm the right to freedom of expression.
We therefore welcome pictures that challenge or explore these new regulations of public space, the boundaries between privacy and openness and new social taboos.
