About Open Flash (please see discussion!)

A technique of illuminating a dark scene with a flash unit and an open camera shutter. Typically the photographer sets the camera on a tripod, opens the shutter in bulb mode, triggers the flash manually (multiple times if desired, and often from different positions in the scene) and then closes the shutter.
