22 Feb 11 - Welcome to OpenFile Calgary's Flickr group! Feel free to add photos of all things Calgary. Just make sure a) It was taken in YYC and b) some element of it screams Calgary to you (and you think it'll do that same screaming to someone else). Not sure what OpenFile is? We're a local collaborative news website. Check out our website and read about how it works.

About OpenFile Calgary

OpenFile is a collaborative, community-driven, local news site; we cover stories that matter to Calgarians. (We've got other cities, too.)

And when we say collaborative, we mean collaborative. Our readers help shape what we cover, and we want you and your photos of Calgary to be a big part of what we do, too—sometimes, we'll want to use them alongside our reported files (stories we've reported on) or our growing files (stories we're working on); sometimes, we'll want to turn them into stories; other times, we'll want to feature them all by themselves.

What that all means is that, when you submit photos to OpenFile Calgary's Flickr group, you grant us permission to show those photos on OpenFile. Of course, we'll always give you credit, you'll still own the full rights to your work, and we won't ever, say, sell prints of your photos or anything like that. Mostly, we want to see Calgary how you do, and we want our readers to, as well.
