About Only In New York! (Crazy/Funny/Weird shots only!)
Welcome to "ONLY IN NEW YORK!" -- a group for the kind of outlandish images that can ONLY be taken in a crazy city like the Big Apple.
Please, please, PLEASE do NOT post just ANY picture taken in New York. We are looking for a very SPECIFIC type of image ONLY for this group pool, emphasizing the crazy life of the greatest place on Earth. The pics can can be candid, or they can be posed. They can be color, or black and white. They can have people in them, or not. BUT -- they MUST be taken in NYC (preferably in a public place), and they MUST be able to be described by one of the following attributes: Bizarre, Weird, Funny, Strange, Shocking, Wacky, Unusual, Hilarious, Crazy, Abnormal, Scary, Unbelievable, Surreal, Unexplainable, Head-Scratching, Jaw-dropping, Laugh-inducing, Kooky, or Offbeat. Crazy New York "characters" are welcome! Just no "normal" streetshots allowed, please.
If a photo you want to submit can NOT be described by at least ONE of the above adjectives, then this just isn't the group for your photo. Please look at examples in the group pool FIRST before posting, to get a sense of exactly what we're looking for.
Basically we want the type of images where once you look at them, the words "Only In New York" want to come out of your mouth. If you can picture them taking place in any other city in the world, then it's possible they don't belong. We want the true "New York moments" where if you were to pass them by in real life, you can't help but do a double-take, because you can't believe what you're seeing!
The rules again are:
* Photos must take place in New York City or a recognizable surrounding borough
* Photos should NOT just be any photo taken in a New York location, but should have emphasis on being funny, weird, offbeat, unusual, or distinctively "New York" -- basically it should be the type of image where once you look at it, the words "Only In New York" want to come out of your mouth...
* Pics with people in them are preferable (we love crazy characters!!), but if you have a pic of a funny sign, or a weird location, or a toilet in a kitchen (so typical!), or some other uniquely New York-ian oddity, feel free to upload them!
* No nudity or pornography allowed! Such pics will be removed without explanation.
