He has been very influential in shooting colour shots with flash. Popular themes are leisure, tourism, food and travel. There is usually humour in his photos. Please browse through the pool to see the sort of stuff that is welcome here. The group is moderated. Sorry but due to lack of active moderators (i.e. one - me), I can now only accept three Photos per week

About On a Par... with Martin Parr

We love Martin Parr's photography.

Our favourite photos always seem to smack of Mr. Parr so we set up this group for photos that are really similar.
His photographic projects take a critical look at modern society; specifically consumerism, foreign travel and tourism, family and relationships, and food. There is usually some wit or a humorous juxtaposition involved.
See Gallery #1 and Gallery #2 for the type of thing we're looking for.

If you have a photo that you think could have been taken by Mr. Parr, whizz it through!

For the benefit of the group we'll review each submission making sure members only send their best and most Parr-like photos. Please don't just add standard street photography. There are plenty of other groups for that. Submissions should reek of Parr!
