About Oakland Museum Panama Trip - Beyond the Canal! Twelve members of the Natural Sciences Guild of the Oakland Museum traveled to Panama (March 18 to March 27th, 2010). Many memorable moments were made possible by Peg Abbott of Naturalist Journeys and Rich Cahill of Panama's Ancon expeditions (below). Our main interest was the spectacular birds and natural history of Panama but we also visited sites of historical, cultural and archeological interest - and, of course, the canal.
