06 May 08 - May 6-9: We'll be cleaning up at the studio every evening - drop in to help or pick up your stuff! (We don't have much storage, so getting stuff is A Good Idea.)

May 10: We'll be clearing out the studio starting at 10am. Trucks are needed. People are really really needed. Come empty the place and put the critters back in hibernation. There's a party & potluck at 6:30, too!

About Olympia Procession of the Species

What is the Procession of the Species Celebration?

The Procession of the Species is a joyous, spontaneous artistic pageant where community members celebrate their relationships with each other and with the natural world.

Created by the community for the community, the Procession program facilitates seven weeks of art, music, and dance workshops that inspire personal understanding of and local action for wildlife protection.

Then on Procession day, residents don their creative expressions and proceed through the streets of Olympia in masks and costumes. Carrying banners, windsocks, and giant puppets, they participate in a cultural exchange honoring the awe and splendor of the natural world.

The 14th Annual Olympia's Procession of the Species was celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2008 @ 4:30pm and it was an entrancing kaleidoscope of brilliant colors, delighted by 27,000 smiles beaming together.
