Setting the focus Pen EE-S 2
|
Hi i recently aquired several Pen ees's i lost the focus point on two of them ,unscrewing the front element without first marking them.I set up a (target) and shot 48 different focus points at two distances. My findings were that if you lock the lens down ,mark it at 6 o'clock then turn it anti clockwise to the 1 o'clock position (set it to the close up (single man ) position first) it will then be focussed.I cannot say if this will work for all Pens ,but it worked for my ees 2 .Hope this is of any help.

Casually I unscrew the element a little in the last minute (accidentally, oops)... I think that mine was screwed right to the end, but right now im not sure at all. so, that information is great for me (and for reassemble the camera too!),
But I can't undestand what are you talking about. I mean... What mark i need to set at 6 o'clock? I have four. I think you point to the 'external' marks...
The thing about a close up and the single man is confusing for me.
Sorry, clearly the english is not my best. If you can explain me i will be grateful.

Yeah no problem ,just screw the element back tight, then where the six o'oclock position would be on a clock, put a tipex mark.Unscrew the element till the mark lines up with where 1 o'clock would be,then put the outer focussing ring back to the single man position.Hope this works

@wednesdayweek Thank you, this saved my Pen EES-2. Fixed the aperture and of course didn't mark the focus point. Result: unsharp pictures. Disassembled, reset focus with your tip: super sharp again. Thank you very much!
