About Afghanistan is Khorasan
This group is about photos that are only taken in Khorasan the modern day “Afghanistan”. Modern day Afghanistan is in reality the old Khorasan. Khorasan means the land of sunrise and it was the name of the country before it was changed to “Afghanistan”. The name change came after Pashtoons of southern Khorasan assumed power in 1747. They changed the name of the country to “Afghanistan”. The name Afghanistan means the land of the Patan or Pashtoon; ever since 1747 the country has been under Pashtoon or Patan hegemony. This name is unjust, it ignores the identity and conceals the heritage of other ethnic groups in the country, some of which have been known to have lived in this land since prehistoric era. The name “Afghanistan” does not reflect the true ethnic make up and identity of the country. The country has an ethnic make up of:
41% Pashtun
38% Tajik
10% Hazara
6% Uzbek
2% Turkmen
1% Nuristani
1% Baloch
1% other
(Source, ABC America, BBC and German ARD-2009)
However, these figures would be disputed by the Pashtoon nationalist who kept the country in turmoil from 1992 to 1996 when they had briefly lost their hegemony.
I would like to dedicate this site to the memory of Khorasan the land of sunrise the land of light in the hope that one day it will reemerge and a historical wrong would be corrected. I hope that all the ethnic groups in Khorasan would live side by side as equal citizens with equal rights where no single ethnic group would impose its image over the other. I hope that this occupation would end and all the people of Khorasan would live by the command of Allah and his messenger Mohammad (may peace and blessing of Allah be upon him and his family and his companions) I conclude with the following motto; Equity and access, Unity and Diversity in the shade of Shariah are the paths to progress.
