About ofw

What's OFW? Glad you asked... although if you don't like cussing, it's probably best to stop reading now.

The Canadians at work have banded together and given each day of the five days of the work week monikers. Not surprisingly, cuss words are frequently incorporated into these monikers.

"ofw" stands for "oh fuck Wednesday". It's used to describe that feeling you get when you have a mountain of a todo list that needs to be cleared off by friday, and you realize that half the week is already gone. It's compounded by everyone else realizing it's ofw and throwing more stuff at you.

If you work with sales people, this usually happens to you at friday at 4:30pm, because they've promised their custy something on monday at 8am. We're a little more efficient about it at work, and give ourselves and extra couple days to panic. Yay us.

It should be noted that the use of a comma is optional, and can make ofw a very versatile expression. observe:

It's Wednesday, you want to take Friday off, and you have three days worth of work to do before the end of the week: "oh fuck, wednesday!!"

You're having a really good day, and are proud of yourself so being so far ahead of the game on Tuesday. Then you realize it's actually wednesday, and your world comes crashing down: "oh, fuck wednesday!!!"

Some one asks you what day it is: "oh fuck wednesday"

See? Simple.

This group is all about that feeling. Note that OFW can happen on pretty much any day, so shots not taken on Wednesday are perfectly fine.
