About Ogilvy Maven Network
The Ogilvy Maven Network is a global network of culture mavens based at Ogilvy offices around the world.
Malcolm Gladwell coined the term 'maven' in his recent book The Tipping Point. But mavens have been around long before Malcolm Gladwell: they are the knowledge-hungry social connectors that have advised friends and started trends throughout human history. The Oxford English dictionary defines a maven as 'an expert or connoisseur', which hints at an appetite for both learning and teaching - two key motivations for the Ogilvy Maven Network.
Ogilvy mavens have a particular appetite for urban culture. They love to explore their cities, discovering new and exciting things to see and do. They crave the authentic; the pure essences of cultures and ideas that inform and inspire creative thought.
Crucially, Ogilvy mavens relate all of their learning and experience back to brands. By bringing together an international network of mavens who can share this learning, Ogilvy is in pole position to develop big brands and big brand ideas on a global scale.
