About Official FDNY
This is the official group for the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).
As first responders to fires, public safety and medical emergencies, disasters and terrorist acts, the FDNY protects the lives and property of New York City residents and visitors. The Department advances public safety through its fire prevention, investigation and education programs. The timely delivery of these services enables the FDNY to make significant contributions to the safety of New York City and homeland security efforts.
We welcome your current and historic photos of FDNY operations, apparatus, memorials and firehouse exteriors. Yet, please be mindful of the subject matter and do not post distasteful photos, such as those that depict victims and their injuries.
We reserve the right to remove any photos and comments that we deem necessary.
All photos submitted to this group are considered property of the Fire Department and can be used for our own purposes with proper accreditation. Photos posted by users to our Flickr group will be periodically featured on our website (www.nyc.gov/fdny).
