14 May 07 - This is a new group for strange and unusual places, landmarks, tourist attractions and other oddities off the beaten path. Let's see where you've been and if this group sparks enough interest, I'll likely start contest to highlight photos from the strangest places in the world.

About Off the beaten path

This is a group for photos of landmarks and attractions that are not obvious, and generally odd or weird.

When you go to New York, you visit the Statue of Liberty. When you go to St. Louis, you visit the Gateway Arch. The obvious tourist attractions. And when you come to Minnesota (where I'm at) you'll probably visit the Boundary Waters or the Walker Art Center. But instead, why not visit the Nyhberg Sculpture Park featuring a life-sized elephant made of used lawn mower blades or the world's largest Prairie Chicken in Rothsay "The Prairie Chicken Capitol of the World."

1. Photos should be from out-of-the-ordinary places anywhere in the world. Places off the beaten path.

2. Include where the photo was taken in the cutline and geotag your photos.
