Good ideas, since some of those places I've never been to, and some it may have been 20 years since I was there...
I've got a conference going on Jan 19th, and a birthday Jan28th, so I'll need to work around those things.

Alright, to help plan these sorts of things, I've made a Google Calendar (I hope most people have Google accounts) so we can collaborate on events and such before we make an offical post to Upcoming.org.
Oh Lord, the planning crud my courses have taught me is starting to rear it's ugly head...
Anyways, here is the link so follow that and you should be able to view it, add, edit things and etc.

Of course.
So, at this point the 26th is looking to be wide open right now. The SuperBowl is on the 3rd of February, so no conflicts with that.
That also puts it as the week after the usual 3rd week of the month rotation for the Milwaukee walk as well, which will hopefully get some of them to join us.
Oh, and right now my vote is for either Nashotah Park or Monches. That way I think we can have a local place for all of us to go warm up, eat something and hang out afterwards too.

Alright, this has been a sleepy thread for a while, so I'm going to ask who's still interested in meeting up.

I work at a camp in Oconomowoc, and if you did one of these during the summer, I would really love to come. I have only seen a little bit of the area, but I would love to see more!

I think Jan. 26th may be bad for me, as it's a birthday weekend. Right now Feb. is wide open though...

I'm open for pretty much any date.
If the 26th doesn't work, how about the 12th?

Jan 12th is a no go for me. Perhaps the 13th (Sunday)?

So what do you all think of Jan 13th at Nashotah Park?

Shoot for 12:30? Hopefully let people get some lunch in their tummies before heading out. I'll be rockin' some hot chocolate for those who need it.

To get into Nashota Park will be $2.50 per car. I was there today, and got what I think are some awesome shots of sledding action. I'll get those up later today. Sadly, I don't think I can bring the kids along with me unless I let them go sledding!

Hmmm, planned action shots? That could be a lot of fun...

I'm in for Jan 13th. Gaia and I would love to go sledding, and she's my favorite photographic subject. You want I can send press release?

Hmm, that's very tempting. Raster has the final say on that.

I have the final say? Wow, what power!
Ok then... It's a PhotoSleddingWalk or something... I'll bring the kids and the cameras, and the sleds, and we'll see what happens.

Eh, you're the moderator, so I respect that with final say on things of major-ness like that.

I'll be at a wedding on the beach in Hollywood, Florida that day. I'll do my best to stay warm.

Ah, looks like the weekend entrance fee is $5.00 per car (it's $2.50 on weekdays.)
Since it's January, I recommend buying a year-long sticker for $25 so you can enjoy the beauty of the parks for all of 2008.

The nice thing too is if someone you know gets one, I believe there is a coupon for someone else to get theirs for half off. So, remember to spread the love!

FYI The State Park Season stickers you get from Lapham Peak, do NOT qualify at Nashotah Park.
And as for an idea on making things cheaper, there is a park-n-ride pretty much right outside the entrance to Nashotah Park, so we could meet there and carpool into the park.

Whoa, that's weird and pretty dumb. That kinda defeats the purpose of those stickers then!
That sounds like a pretty good plan to me with the car pool. I'd be up for it.

Carpool, definitely!
Yeah, sadly your Wisconsin State Parks sticker is different from your Waukesha County Parks sticker. :(
