About Occupy Tampa
We are the 99% of Tampa.
In wake of recent events in NYC, those who cannot make it to Wall Street are forming local branches nationwide. This is ours. The first General Assembly met on 9/24. With less than a dozen in attendance, we realized that we cannot make demands or even form a cohesive agenda until interest, conversation and excitement develops first. We decided to organize in solidarity with Occupy Wall St. but also mold our objectives and concerns around Tampa Bay and Florida's needs.
Occupy Tampa officially began organizing on September 23rd. In less than a weeks time, look at what we've done! Because we are not occupying a location, everything is coordinated online so be patient with our communication. The entire process will evolve as time progresses.
