About Obscure Wonders of the World
We've all heard of Machu Picchu, Angkor Wat and Stonehenge, and they're images are iconic, known the world over.
But what about Skara Brae? Or Kuélap? Or Streatham Ice Rink? Do you ever feel crowded when there's more than three people in your ancient ruin? Have you ever uttered the words, "I prefer their earlier less commercial stuff," when discussing music?
This is a group dedicated to the promotion of the less well-known wonders of the world, the places which never get the press because they're overshadowed by the UNESCO-listed monument next door, with the burger bars, train service and hordes of tourists. This is a group for the promotion of the places that preferred El Mariachi to Sin City. If Machu Picchu is U2, these places would be Husker Du.
Only obscure wonders will be accepted. Obscureness, as a non-measurable value, is at the discretion of the administration, the Auditors of Obscurity (Of which there is currently one. Me.) but basically, if there's 10,000 other pictures of it on here, chances are it's not terribly obscure. Happy hunting, and remember: you preferred the Incas earlier less commericial stuff.
