27 Aug 08 - Cars, trucks, vans, or whatever as long as it carries passenger plates it is game. Well cars that carry commercial plates, too. Plus motorcycles, scooters, pickup trucks, Cushmans, and any other interesting vehicle used for transport.

Owning a car in New York City is a truly unique experience. It's been said that to a New Yorker, a car is less a mode of transportation than an emotional support system. If you do own one, especially in Manhattan, you are no doubt used to the look of surprise – if not shock – when friends and co-workers find out.

Parking (ha!), insurance (cha-ching!), birds (splat!), vandals (uh-oh), buses (whoosh!), taxi drivers (HONK!! SCREECH!!) braille parking (tap, tap, crunch!), $85 tickets (ARGHHH!!!), are just some of the challenges car owners face on a daily basis.

If you can honestly say you've parallel parked a 14-foot car in a 13-foot space, then you have truly joined the ranks of NYC car owners.

This group is dedicated to all the cars found in the five boroughs: art cars, livery cabs, French cars, weird cars, wrecked cars, abandoned cars, burned-out cars, old cars, new cars, exotic cars, police cars, unclassifiable cars, Batmobiles, etc.
