About Mississippi Architects: N.W. OverstreetNoah Webster Overstreet (1888-1973) was one of Mississippi's premier early and mid-20th century architects. He was one of the first native architects to receive a formal architectural education, and he trained the next generation of Mississippi architects. The partnership of Overstreet with A. Hays Town during the 1930s, brought the state national attention for cutting-edge concrete Modernist designs. The Overstreet firm continued after World War II as N.W Overstreet & Associates and continued to design Modernist schools and public buildings, along with more traditional churches. |
