About Us

Natural Selection is a Reggae/Dub/Jazz Music Collective rolling with a crew of local selector's and musicians as well as a heavy 10k Sound System. Acting as a hub for next level artists to produce and perform together, Natural Selection aims to impact and develop partnerships with local creative and cultural groups amongst our International communities, and the wider Greater Manchester population.

Manchester No.1 Roots Reggae night located at The Mint Lounge. Priding ourselves on the fact we always Introduce an International artist to Manchester on every main event. This showcases the artist to an audience previously unreachable as well as guaranteeing a premier experience for the people of Manchester.

The longest running artist with Natural Selection Sound System is International vocalist Afrikan Simba (Nigeria), who has been the back bone for getting the sound heard and loved! Afrikan Simba is one of the leading MC's in Europe, having worked with top artists and sound systems around. The sound system is backed by a host of local and International artists that continue to push the music.

“Extra Love” Is a tight cross-genre collective of session musicians. Born over 3 years ago, Extra Love have performed at some of the UK's best loved music festivals, events and producers. As a professional collective “Extra Love” have grown from a 2 piece duo to a 10 Piece band.

“Extra Love” delivers a unique mix of rhythm’n’blues, reggae, dub, soul, funk and aggressive jazz. Over the last 7 months natural selection has enabled the development of “Extra Love” linking with world class vocalists.The band are well known to improvise entire tunes to keep the spontaneity and excitement to the up most.
