About Novelty Ashtrays
This is a group dedicated to novelty ashtrays....you know, the ones with funny illustrations or pictures on them, or shaped like a skull or an airplane.....or the state of Wisconsin....pinup girl ashtrays......cheesy old state souvenir ashtrays with an alligator or giant peach on it....you get the idea, right? (But not just any unusual shape. If shape is the focus, it must be shaped like some particular thing, not just amoeba or freeform shapes....I like those, too....but that's not what I'm looking for here)
ABSOLUTELY NO cigarettes or ashes in the picture....this group is NOT about smoking.....it's only about the ashtrays. (Everyone that has ashtrays isn't necessarily a smoker.) So, wash that sucker first!!
WARNING: I will be ruthless in the removal of pictures I don't consider to fit within the guidelines of the group, and will do so without notice....so don't take it personally if your pic get zapped.
Also, the ashtray HAS to be the main focus of the picture...if you post a pic showing your whole living room, or any pic where the ashtray itself is not VERY clearly and prominently featured, it WILL be removed.
Advertising ashtrays are fine, just as long as there is some kind of novelty aspect.....a cartoon or some kind of character(s), or at least a funny slogan. There were also some pretty cool Astrological/Zodiac ashtrays made in the 60's and 70's....these would qualify, as well.
