I removed two shots by 4444u.a.e, as they weren't tagged, and it was impossible for me to determine from the comments whether they were of somebody else's cat or not.

As for shhexycorin's offering, I'm sorely tempted to remove it. While I'm sure the tag "not my cat" is truthful, it isn't "somebody else's cat", which is what this group is all about...

Ah, no, good job you asked. Any herding images (both professional or amateur) should be posted to the Herding cats group. Thank you.

And sheila: I don't want to condemn other people's eating habits, unless of course they decide not to offer me any, but if you have pictures of serving cats, then I don't want them in this pool!

Yours sincerely,
Yours sincerely.

Can I post a picture of myself?

I certainly do not "own" myself. I was put here by Bast, so Bast alone owns me.

oh, gracious bast most high (on catnip).

arrrgh! you looked.

dr_loplop 13 years ago
Yes, you may KLP, as long as somebody else took it (i.e. not a self portrait, in which case you would want this group).
WaterWindStars Posted 13 years ago. Edited by WaterWindStars (member) 13 years ago
AnnabelB solemnly doffing the imaginary rat had my imagination working overtime so I wandered off to read Herodratus.

dr_loplop 13 years ago
Oh dear, boots! I just recommended that key lime pie should post any self portraits to the photographs BY cats, not OF cats group, but now I fear that I may have made a catastrophic mistake!

By a most fortunate coincidence, our pool has been graced by a photo of the oh-so-famous Schrödinger's cat, almost as a response to my previous inquiry!
WaterWindStars Posted 13 years ago. Edited by WaterWindStars (member) 13 years ago
In the world of particle fizziks nothing is coincidence, Professor togr. You were simply flying backwards (possibly) in a warp of some sort while the arrival of Schrödinger's cat was flying forward (possibly) and you passed each other (possibly) doffing hats (possibly). (See accessories in Are Cats the New Cattle thread.)

I have popped over to Schrödinger's cat and welcomed it to the group.

Removed from the pool (during this evening's long trawl), weef kichard's painting of V. I. Lenin and his mog, for contravening the first plank of the Somebody Else's Cattist Manifesto.

Moggies of the world, unite!
WaterWindStars Posted 13 years ago. Edited by WaterWindStars (member) 13 years ago
Would you remind the foggies of the world what the first plank was, Comrade Loplopski?

edited: make that "is" (the historical present in Hegelian dialectic).

edited again: make that Marxist-Leninist dialectic.

edited again: maybe make that Hegelian-Marxist-Leninist dialectic.

edited again: maybe remove all reference to dialect because maybe we are synthetic by now.

dr_loplop 12 years ago
I'm ashamed to say that I couldn't remember what the first plank of the Hegelian-Marxist-Leninist dialectic is, so I looked it up.

Turns out that it was not his first plank after all. Phew.

Anyway, I was just looking for a place to paste the list of photos that I have removed from the pool, and happened to stumble upon this, the removed from the pool thread.

So here I am. And there they were:

On the subject of large marine mammals, what do the collective somebody else's cat administrators think of this one?

Should it be given the somebody else's cat seal of approval? (Subject, of course, to the addition of suitable "not my seal" tags.)

oops! -- edit for beached link
WaterWindStars 12 years ago
oh

*thinks*

not a CAP but C&P.

Where have I been?

dr_loplop simply smirked and tiptoed by.
WaterWindStars 12 years ago
She's not my cat. She's not your cat. She's not AnnabelB's cat. She's not dr_loplop's cap. I say put it on and sit on it! She has my clapping seal on a pedestal of approval.
admin
dr_loplop 12 years ago
Oops. sorry boots -- I omitted to put on my thinking C&P and inadvertently linked you to the wrong cat!
admin
AnnabelB Posted 12 years ago. Edited by dr_loplop (admin) 12 years ago
Not my wrong cat.

It should perhaps be submitted to the catloaves group instead.

Will you please confirm that this is not, in fact, your catbaguette by tagging it "babette's feast was not here", "not my feast", "catbaguette" or "clapping seal of approval", submitting to at least 12 different catbaguette groups and wait for a formal invitation from two admins to a dress rehearsal of "catbaguette lake" by the Bolshoi ballet in Moscow, then resubmit. Just a formality, you understnad, Thanks!

Seriously, great job on pool cleaning, dr. loplop. Well done!

I vote that FlickrC&Pbot gets the Somebody else's cat catbaguette of approval, for its services to the cause of sausages and other such thingies.

And I appreciate your pool cleaning approval, togr. Here are a couple more hapless evictees for your delectation:

www.flickr.com/photos/borabora/169139600/
www.flickr.com/photos/maemae/174724890/

That's the second time borabora has tried to palm us off with a dead catlike thing. Meanwhile, maemae's post is hilarious (at least I laughed about it for far too long).
WaterWindStars 12 years ago
OMG, borabora's is the horrorhorror.

So how do you know that orange popo is not not maemae's cat? and where is the hilarious post? I stand ready to laugh for far too long.

Could somebody remind me not to be stuffing my face with a delicious summer something when I click on one of the good doctor's FlickrC&Pbot remotely activated wi-fi media choco-link thingies?

Thanks.

AnnabelB 12 years ago
I'm with ~boots here. So how long was far too long?
WaterWindStars 12 years ago
I'm still standing here. They also serve who stand and wait but who is serving the chococake?
admin
dr_loplop 12 years ago
It depends what you mean by serving.

And "far too long" is practically every time it enters my mind. There's just something about the discrepancy between the Vancouver waterfront (which has certain associations for me) and a cat (which has others) that I find inexplicably hilarious.
admin
AnnabelB 12 years ago
I'd be interested to further understand the associations.
admin
dr_loplop 12 years ago
I would explain, but my associations module has just experienced a fatal exception, and needs rebooting.

to get back to the topic:

till now i had no idea my pics were removed from this pool..
after adding the required tags, i moved them back, i hope that's allright?
admin
dr_loplop Posted 12 years ago. Edited by AnnabelB (admin) 12 years ago
Absolutely. Your friendly neighbourhood somebody else's cat admins endeavour to notify all potential "my cat" posters well in advance of removing any photos from the pool.

Our aim is for this group to be a cheerful, relaxed place to hang out, ambitions of Global Domination notwithstanding. I apologise for any inconvenience the removal of your pictures may have caused.

Having just spent the first hour of my working day reading this entire thread not only am I wondering how to send you all some soothing tea but now I'm worried that the picture I posted is wrong, as although Monty is my mother's cat I bought him, so briefly he was mine - from the moment of money being handed over until the car journey was over and he was handed (spitting and hissing) over to my mother....
admin
AnnabelB 12 years ago
I think that's fine - as long as the photo was not taken, nor posted to Flickr and this group, while the cat was actually in your ownership. The gift of a cat, out of your ownership, into somebody else's, is a very fine thing and should be commended and recognised. I will have a word with the other admins (frankly, some are more bossy than others) and clear it with them.
Pixie Land 12 years ago
No - the pic was taken over a year after he was given to mum back when we stil thought he was a girl....
admin
AnnabelB 12 years ago
Then it is not your cat. (Not mine either, but certainly not yours.)
