About Not Fooled!

Not Fooled
...by the media
...by the government

A flickr group of members who are in the disenfranchised minority of current elected officials of any government. We may be Americans, frustrated by the Bush administration, or citizens of other countries who feel they are not represented well by their government leaders. Images in our group pool will be relevant to current events and will be discussed in group topics. The submitting author should initiate the discussion after he/she or one of the admins starts a topic thread. We believe that the media does not necessarily objectively cover stories about the realities that political agendas make difficult. We believe that "the people" often have important and urgent stories to tell, with words and pictures. We discuss issues with the hope that true conversation and dialogue take place: not just unsubstantiated feelings of frustration.

We encourage participation by invitation: to deter those who seek only to be disrupters and berserkers, we ask those interested to apply to join. An administrator will reply promptly. If you post an image to the group pool we assume that you are prepared to be engaged in discussion about the image and the content issues.

Here's to hope that our conversations and contributions are ultimately viewed as furthering positive change in our society. If you want to create a topic that is a RANT, that is welcome, but please identify/label with (RANT) in your topic title. Let's keep rants separate from regular discussion topics.

The Internet, at its best, is a rare independent media that permits people to bypass large corporations and puts the power of political self-expression into our own hands. Welcome to our group!
