About This Is Not Art

If you have a picture that you took and then afterwards you said in a surprised tone, "Wow that's actually really good!" then this is probably the group you want to put it in.

The Main Point Of The Group Is To Showcase Pictures That You Took Knowing They Weren't Going To Turn Out Very Well, And You Were Beyond Pleasantly Surprised When They Where Great!

For Example:

"There was bad lighting at little Timmy's roller rink birthday part,
but man my picture of the cake turned out surprisingly awesome!"

"Betty is having a bad hair day let's take her picture as a joke..."
and then the next week Betty sees the pictures and begins wearing
her hair like that all the time...

"Okay everyone stand by the Hard Rock Cafe sign and say Cheese"
...and the next thing you know Hard Rock Cafe is using your photo as an
advertisement for their new "Family Fun Restaurant" campaign.

Photos such as these are not art per say, but they may very well be technically good, high quality and interesting shots. The more spontaneous and common place the better. The group is meant to be a collection of really great photos that are not artistic in topic or nature, but rather pictures that are accidentally good.

Those test shots you take to check lighting or focus and they end of being the best shot you take all day. The occasionally masterful captures of friends and family that weren't taken artistically, but rather just taken for fun or to capture a memory. And anything else that was taken for unartistic purposes and ended up being unexpectedly or accidentally good.

Photos with limited edits or alterations are preferred, but things such as cropping, black and white, or sepia toning are of course acceptable.

This group is open to everyone feel free to add as often as you like, but for the sake of limiting spamming and photo dumping I will edit the pool periodically and removal of photos will be done at my discretion. I will try to always notify you with a reason if your pictures is removed, and if you feel it was an unfair removal feel free to message me about it.

Thanks! And Enjoy The Group!
