About Not DIN
"Not DIN" is a group for collecting pictures of public signage where you'd expect DIN1451/FF DIN.
These could be signs older than the original DIN typeface (which is from 1936) or newer signs whereon another typeface has been used. As well variations on the theme, to keep records of the diversity.
In Germany DIN 1451 is mandatory for Road Signage (i.e. highway signage and the like), but for street signs it's only recommended and without obligation. Here the usage of other typefaces without serifs is fine. Nevertheless on most of german simple street signs there is DIN - that's why this group's focus is on the others.
As seen in the german wikipedia article about DIN 1451 this typeface is used mainly in Germany, but as well in Austria, Greece, Eastern Europe and in the Near East. So please post only images of street signs of regions where on the majority of signs there is DIN. Thank you.
