Pictures may depict beauty in temple architecture, foliage surrounding the temples, marriage couples or other people on the temple grounds, and other images or depictions that are respectful and reverent towards the religious beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints".
Professional and amateur photographers are welcome. All photos must be taken at temples in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and maybe occasionally northern California, Nevada, and Idaho. Outdoor pictures only, please. Any other pictures will likely be reviewed and removed - even if they're absolutely stunning.
About The Temples
The LDS (Mormon) temples stand as God's house to the LDS people. Temples possess architectural beauty both inside and out, and rest surrounded by manicured garden foliage and walkways - inviting smiles and a sense of peace for visitors.
While the LDS-church meetinghouses provide the Sacrament (Holy Supper) and sunday school on Sunday, and other organized community activities for its members and visitors during the week, temples host only special rites and ceremonies for LDS-church members and are closed on Sundays. Anyone may tour the grounds but only members of the church are allowed inside beyond the front desk.
Revered as sacred and Holy, these temples serve as a place where members of the LDS church make covenants with God, engage in unique marriage ceremonies (in which the couples are pronounced eternally bound together for this life and beyond), and perform proxy baptisms in behalf of ancestors.
