About Find A Place In North Shore History! Photo Contest

Do you enjoy the North Shore’s many heritage sites? If you do, then you should grab your camera, head outside, and capture some of that amazing North Shore heritage!

The North Vancouver Museum and Archives (NVMA) is excited to launch the Find A Place In North Shore History! Photo Contest. Organized in conjunction with Heritage BC’s Heritage Week, this contest encourages you to capture some of your favourite heritage sites and structures on the North Shore and post them on Flickr, the world’s largest photo sharing website.


Here’s how you can participate!

1. Find a place on the North Shore that’s meaningful to you!
2. Get creative and photograph the building or site anyway you like.
3. Tell us why the place is significant to the history of the North Shore. It could be a community story, a moment from your family history, or about a person or an event.
4. Upload your images onto the Find A Place In North Shore History! Flickr group.
5. Include your age and contact info in the description box beneath the image.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for the best photos in each age category.

Ages 9 to 12 - Digital Camera
Ages 13 to 18 - Camcorder
Adult (19 and up) - EBook Reader

Deadline
Contest has been extended to 21 May 2011! Winners will be announced at Lynn Valley Days held at the NVMA's Community History Centre on 28 May 2011.
