The Value of Photography
A day does not go by without someone in the flickrverse getting a flickrmail that very politely asks for the use of an image in return for credit. Usually these requests flatter the photographer and make him or her feel very good and unfortunately, most give away their image for nothing. Vanity publishing is killing photography as a means of earning a living and this practice has to stop and the only way to stop it is to inform as many members of flickr as will listen, about the harm that the 'it's only one image' attitude is doing to the photographic industry. Remember, those seeking to use your image know its value, it's time you learned its value too.

The Misappropriation of Photography
A second does not go by without an image from flickr being stolen, misappropriated or used without regard to the licensing terms of the image. This group has the objective of providing advice and information on all matters relating to licensing images and the legislation surrounding the area of copyright.

A frightening development in recent years is the harassment of photographers by those who are misinformed regarding the law and photography. This group will try to get YOU informed about the laws regarding photography and put you in a stronger position to defend your rights.

The Pool
The pool of this group is intended for the posting of images that have been misappropriated and used without the photographer's express permission, in breach of the copyright license attached to the image. Please tag the image PRStolen. The pool is moderated so only images bearing the tag will be admitted. It is also useful if your image carries, in the description, the details of the misappropriation.
