About No Fear Photography

Welcome to No Fear Photography on Flickr. No Fear Photography is a Lancaster PA group that meets monthly to discuss all things photographic, and is open to all levels of photography experience, from the novice who’s not sure what an f stop is and a little leery to shoot in anything except Auto mode, to well-seasoned shutterbugs who know that photography is an always changing and challenging medium of expression, and are happy to share their accumulated knowledge. It’s a low key, low pressure group looking to network, share, help, and enjoy our photography passion with like-minded friends.

We meet on the second Wednesday of each month in the “Morgan Center” of the Manheim Township Library off Fruitville Pike in Lancaster. Meetings start at 6:30 pm and run to about 8:00. We also like to get out and do what we love-shoot photos-and weather permitting, like to schedule “walkabouts” where we meet and shoot in areas of interest at least once a month. HOW TO JOIN

Well, first you’ll need to be a Flickr member. If Flickr is entirely new to you, have a look at the FAQ’s Here to get you up to speed. Remember, you don’t have to buy a Pro account to be a member, a free account works just fine. This Flickr group is set up at present as an invitation only, so in order to upload photos and contribute to discussions, we’d prefer that you be local to the Lancaster PA area and have either attended a No Fear meeting or “walkabout”, or plan to do so in the immediate future. If that sounds like you, shoot us a request by clicking on the “Join This Group?” link near the top right of this page and we’ll take good care of you.

AFTER YOU JOIN

Once you’re part of the group, we encourage you to join in the ongoing discussions or start one of your own. Our thought is to expand on our monthly meeting topics and discussions and keep a nice flow of interest going here. And of course, upload photos that you think might be of interest to others in the group. The one caveat we’d like to have in place at this point concerning uploaded photos is the topic of nudity. I would think that most members wouldn’t have a problem with a so-called “artistic” nude study, but we would nonetheless prefer at this point that we remain within the Flickr category of “safe,” which means no nudity. Other than that, we encourage you to visit here on a regular basis to keep track of what’s going on, ask for a critique of a photo of yours, or just yada, yada, yada to your heart’s content.
