About Nocturnes 020307 and beyond

This group is for the participants of the special introductory FULL MOON NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP on Mare Island, with Tim Baskerville, part of The San Francisco Bay Area Flyway Festival this year!
This group is also to showcase any additional shots taken on the Island by moonlight. You should somehow be associated with The Nocturnes and or Tim Baskerville.
There has been a great response to these programs over the past nine years, and the group will continue to hold these and other workshops on a regular basis, as well as night photography expeditions to places like Death Valley, Joshua Tree, and the West of Ireland!

For this workshop on Saturday February 3, 2007, we brought lots of enthusiasm, an eagerness to look at the world from a different perspective, very warm clothes, some brought their own coffee cup, but I totaly missed the chocolate BROWNIES, sorry Tim!

The Moon was big and beautiful. The night was clear and still. The chill minimal and the crowd friendly.

We met at 8pm SHARP! on 8th Street (between Railroad and Walnut Streets) in the Historic Core of Mare Island.

Tim dispensed with the introductory formalities and paperwork in quick fashion and we got right down to business.

Some of us were less than expert with the specific hoops our cameras required us to jump through but there were plenty of seasoned camera buffs to help us out.

For all of those film types, self included, it was a real treat to look over the shoulder of the digital shutterbugs at their 'instant' images!
