In a Los Angeles Police Department policy, included among "[i]ncidents which shall be reported on a Suspicious Activity Report " is "Tak[ing] pictures or video footage (with no apparent esthetic value, i.e., camera angles, security equipment, security personnel, traffic lights, building entrances, etc.)". This not just another boring-photograph group. Yes, your photo should be unesthetic to the bureaucratic mind. But also, in taking it you risked unwanted attention from a policeman, security guard, or other petty authority figure.
