About NO Nike - YES Adidas
Nike wants to buy the naming rights of the "Berlin Olympiastadion"!
So in future there will be the "Nike Stadium". It is not allowed to use the name "Nike Olympia Stadion". And they have to remove all olympic symbols!
But that is not all, for 50.000.000 USD they want to be a sponsor of the German football team! The good old tradition with Adidas will have an end.
USA-Nike as a sponsor for German football?
I hope the German Football Association remembers the last decades when Adidas was a very good sponsor... in good and in bad times. Hope money can't buy them.
Nike is the sponsor of Brazil. Brazils football team got more money from Nike than the DFB from Adidas (and remember how much money all these Ronaldinios, Ronaldos and Ronudalios got from Nike)... Which team played better football in 2006 World Cup? Exactly, Germany! ...
Football is more than money! DFB-members don't need higher salery and young players don't need golden shoes.
Sure, Adidas also wants to make money - but there is a difference: Adidas grew up with football. It is a football-brand from day one.
