yowzers... NAS going into full swing! I wonder why Nikon and chosen to to imbue these lenses with VR? I am guessing that the f/ 1.2 lens would be a killer ambient light lens but it would probably cost $1200, seeing how much Canon charges for their 50mm f/1.2 version

i think this is a fake, most parts of both lens is identical. Plus f1.2 can't be roughly the same size as the f1.4.

the "AF NIKKOR" on the front bezzel give these away as fakes.

Not to mention the focus ring is straight off the AF series. I would expect any AFS prime to have a similar focus ring to the 10.5 or 105VR with the long thin groves, not the dual nubs.

oh well I guess that was fun while it lasted. I do agree that that if you think about it, the f/1.2 should be quite huge and not be the same size as the f/1.4. I have to say that I don't understand why people would even bother to create something like that. It's like they have nothing better to do with their time.

It makes them giggle to fool people? Because they always fool people no matter how poorly they're done.

I would love for Nikon to release either of these lenses, but I hate to admit it's not likely soon. I hope that I'm wrong though. ;)

I have to agree with Tracer on the "AF NIKKOR" on the front not being typical of other AF-S VR desgns by Nikon.

Tsk - it should've said "AF-S VR 33mm f/1.2G" etc. Then I'd be interested. Especially if the VR was the new improved nonexistent hyper-VR that they'll hopefully invent in the future, that can electronically reposition the axis to emulate a tilt-shift lens.

The ED and VR were the fakeouts. There's no reason for either one in a lens that short.
VR, maybe, but ED glass would be optically frivolous at 50mm.

They're good shoops, though, I'll give the artist that.

If an AF-S 50mm came out, would it really be the lens that everyone wants? It would have the same limitations for DSLR users (Nikon's clear intended market) that the current cheap 50mm does. And if Nikon did produce a f/1.2 model, it would be outrageously expensive and probably end up shortly discontinued for lack of sales like the 28mm f/1.4.

I know there are people who are jonesing to get a new fast prime, so I hope that Nikon announces something before years end.

a. the 28mm f/1.4 was not discontinued due to lack of sales. It was discontinued due to the lead content in the lens elements not jiving with EU regulations.

b. The 50mm f/1.2 AI-S, which is still a current lens produced by Nikon is not that huge. Adding the AF-S motor system wouldn't make it much larger.

I'd like to see them put an AF-S motor on the 35mm f/1.4, too.

yep, the f/1.2 lens is way to small to be an actual 50mm f/1.2

also, why would they bother with VR?

@iliasnikon : Be careful what you wish for. The front element of your lens would be 500mm/1.4 = 357mm or ~14".
That's about the size of a family-sized pizza. And you gonna need that pizza after you have carried such a lens up and down a hill.

I'd take the following. A 24/1.4 AF-S, a 50/1.2 AF-S, an 85/1.2 AF-S, and a 135/1.8 AF-S. ...and I'd be set. :)

not bad but yeah i just checked up with nikon and they havent made AF-S 50mm VRs you wouldnt even need VR at 1.2 1.4 and 1.8 seriously,
its a prime, no need for VR

but they are making a AF 1.2 to fight with the canon L series 1.2 but like AS IF they would put VR thats just too much, its the fastest lens on the nikkor list, and it CLEARLY does not need VR!!
oh yeah another point out that its clearly photoshopped
look at it, the body is a mix of several zoom nikkors, because that focus window thing is just too small and the "switch" is just too tiny
