What is NewWest.Net?
Welcome to the FLICKR home of www.newwest.net/. New West is a network of online communities devoted to the culture, economy, politics, environment and overall atmosphere of the Rocky Mountain West. In a time of dramatic change, New West aims to serve as a nexus of dialogue and a smart guide to the news and issues that are affecting one of the greatest places on Earth.

What’s this group about?
This group is an opportunity for New West readers and Western FLICKRites to share our unique visions of life in the New West. Show us the natural environment that you treasure, the human environment you live in, the people you love, as well as the transformation going on all around us.

Group guidelines
The usual standards of FLICKR courtesy apply. That is, please don’t flood the pool with your images -- keep it to three a day, max. And please take the time to have a look at your fellow contributors' photos, and leave a comment or two if you’re so moved. NewWest’s official region of geographic coverage is the Rocky Mountain region, which we define as Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Eastern Washington, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. When selecting our Featured Images (see below), we’ll generally only choose images from these areas, however images from other parts of the West (including the Canadian West) are welcome in the pool.

About the NewWest Featured Image of the Day
Images posted to this group may appear on the New West home page in two ways: 1) the first six images in the pool appear in a thumbnail box on the main New West page; 2) images may be selected as a Featured Image. Before running a Featured Image (one-time use), we will contact you and ask your permission. We’ll need your full name for image attribution, as well as any link to a personal photo page that you may have on the Web. As a default, we link to you FLICKR photo page. Please note that the NewWest.Net Terms of Service does not apply to NewWest.Net Flickr group submissions or the Featured Image of the day, meaning that any image acquired via the NewWest.Net Flickr group may only be published as a NewWest.Net daily Featured Image under a one-time use agreement. The photographer retains full copyright to his/her image, and NewWest.Net may not republish that image without the expressed written permission of the photographer.
