how about when you notify folks of this new rule you mention that we have a new rule? Not all of us join in the discussion streams every day and see that rules have changed. just a little gentler touch. I wasn't offended to get a couple of "reminders" and went right back and made comments - just didn't know the rule had changed.
But now that I'm back here on the discussion page, I can see there are some hints and sharing I would not probably have seen :). Thanks!

It would be nice if you could also check up the stream for the first couple of weeks or so and take care that the people are following the new rule. Otherwise we need the same kind of system as is used in 1on1 group. That is, there is a discussion topic where people can post their photos that did not get the comment and name the persons that were responsible for commenting but didn't.
Although, this kind of approach does not guarantee that the persons in question will write the comments in the future either - so basically it will be up to the admins again to remind these people.

I really so think you are doing a super job - it can't be easy! I'm just joining so many groups in my new "zeal" that keeping track of which need comments is getting a bit difficult. Guess I need to slow down and smell the roses, as they say! keep up the good work, Gabrielas!

Thanks catya_maria007 and California_Grandma_K for the feedback. It has been so hot here in Suisse that we haven't not been at our computers as much. Finally the heat has broken at least for a day so my it is bearable. Anyway enough with the excuses, we will follow up and make sure that people are following the rules and as always we are really excited to have you here.

Good question. I am trying to figure that out for myself. I will follow up with the people and make sure that they know the rules. There are a lot of new people around and they don't always know how things work or if they were here before they may not have read the new rules. Thanks for the heads up.

I think "Nice photo", "Lovely", "Excellent" and such short comments shouldn't qualify as valid comments. I would like to get critics not just compromise comments.

I think it is frustrating not to get the required one back comment... and if the admin sets a rule like that someone should look after it. I think if you post a pic to a group which says "comment on..." you should do that immediately.
Carlitos: I do agree, but I don't think this is the right pool , you need to go to a place like the positive/negative group, or maybe hit-miss-maybe-why, or more technically oriented groups to really get constructive comments. And sometimes, if you just *have* to say something about a pic you really don't feel able to critique, a "great shot" is still better than nothing, so people know you have seen and commented on their work

Same here, no one seems to bother with rules. These people dump their photos and run..sad, that's not what I thot the group would be, if this continues I'll be tempted to leave..

Maybe there should be a topic where the offehnder names ars posted , if hr name appears three time the admin. bans them.

j'ai pense que on peut voir plus vite ce que on doit faire, et voila j'éspère que ca nous aide un peu à que les gens se souviens des régles et par ailleurs que les comments soient faits plus régulièremente. Bienvenues votres idéés.

yes, normally every body must leave a comment in the right picture, and copy and tpaste the link of newphotographers group. I'm sorry if participants forge it or simply they do not comment the pics. for me is a little difficultly in this momment to write every people that forget it.
I want to have the problem in my hands, but now I am full with the school. Do not hesitate to write one mail to the people forgotten to leave the commentt in your pic. (And I say it to everybody, maybe you can help me, if do you want )
