About New Orleans Recovery

This project was designed by two Columbia University students to crowdsource Flickr images of post-Katrina New Orleans into an interactive map on our external website. We are in the process of coding the site right now (it should be up within the next two weeks), and any help to begin building a database of images in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

Every image submitted to the group should be tagged with neworleansrecovery and one or more of the following:

Infrastructure: Anything to do with city operations.

Buildings: Construction, gutting, demolition, etc.

People: NOLA residents, tourists, etc.

Writing: All signage, grafitti, etc.

Macro: Details.

Other: Obvious.

Lastly, ALL submitted images must be placed on the group map AND tagged with either a specific address or a specific intersection. Otherwise, they will not be outsourced to the external site. When inputting street addresses, please use standard USPS abbreviations (St., Blvd., Rd., etc.). When inputting intersections, please connect the two streets with & (i.e. Thalia St. & Baronne St.).
