About Newcastle's Secret Flickrwall

Newcastle's Secret started life as an alleyway leading to a carpark, with Secret entrance --> written in chalk. Who wrote this, I don't know - this shall remain forever a mystery.

Please visit and add to the wall, don't ruin anyone elses contributions and leave chalk for others! Theres a good place to leave chalk here, keeps it dry too. I'd suggest putting the box of chalks inside a sandwich bag too, because they don't work very well when soggy. I'll do that next time I visit the wall.

Take a photo before and after and add it to the pool!

Where is it?

Pilgrim Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.
The 'A' pin on the Google map represents the exact location of the alleyway, the Market Lane pub is opposite the alleyway. The alleyway is so secretive, it's location is even unknown to Google.

Directions
From Northumberland Street, walk down to the bottom end towards the old Odeon cinema on Pilgrim Street. Keep going, past the cinema and past the police station on Market Street. Walk on the left hand side of the road and continue down towards the Swan House roundabout, look out for an alleyway on the left hand side. The chalk-work is on the left hand side of the alleyway, so you'll have to turn around and look closely to see it.

The Market Lane pub is on the opposite side of the road.

There is another similar alleyway which is painted in a cream colour, don't make the mistake of going down there.
