Netball is a game played with two teams of seven with a ball similar to a soccer ball. It sounds very similar to what Wil has described above. The ball is not allowed to be bounced and the players may not walk with the ball, they are allowed to take one step only once the ball is in their hands and the foot that touches the ground first is not allowed to touch the ground again or the ball is given to the opposing team. At each end of the netball court is a half circle with the goal being on the flat side in the middle on a pole. The goal consists of a circle with a net at the top of the pole. The only people allowed in this half circle are the two goalies (Goal Attack and Goal Shoot) and the two Defences (Goal Defense and Goal Keep). A goal is worth one point. Each game consists of four quarters of 15 minutes each. It is a very fast and athletic game. Netball is mostly played by women as a winter sport but it is also becoming very popular as a summer sport played by both men and women. The countries that play this game mostly are New Zealand, Australia, Jamaica, South Africa, some Pacific Islands and the UK.
