Welcome to the Project NestWatch Canada Flickr page! Project NestWatch is a citizen science program through Bird Studies Canada ( designed to follow the health of bird populations through long-term monitoring of nesting activity across Canada. The program is based on the volunteer efforts of many bird watchers and field naturalists like you, and this photo portal serves to share your photos and videos of breeding birds across Canada. Bird Studies Canada requests that you please read the group rules before joining and posting to this group. We encourage safe and ethical birdwatching, nest monitoring and photographing practices, for both the birds and photographers. We also would like your permission to access your photos for organizational use, and will contact you via FlickrMail to request this permission for our website and print materials, if needed .

To benefit all Flickr users, please include notable information about your photo, which might include:
•Bird identification (Common and/or Scientific names)
•Date of photo
•Location of photo
•Other (nest type, habitat, breeding behavior, COSEWIC status etc.)

Bird Studies Canada (BSC) is a not-for-profit organization built on the enthusiastic contributions of thousands of volunteer Citizen Scientists and contributors. Data from Bird Studies Canada's volunteer surveys and targeted research projects are used to identify significant population changes and help direct conservation planning. The mission of Bird Studies Canada is to advance the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of wild birds and their habitats, in Canada and elsewhere, through studies that engage the skills, enthusiasm, and support of its members, volunteers, and the interested public.
