About Neo-Victorian Boudoir
Contemporary electro-luminescent graphical renderings of Victorian or Edwardian portraiture in a risqué boudoir style.
When Adding Your Portraits
Please note the words "Neo" (read: contemporary or revival) and "Victorian" (read: elements from the turn of last century circa 1800s to1910). "Boudoir", of course, lies in the soft downy world of the drawing room or even, *gasp!*, the bedroom where seductive men and women chance to lure the voyeur.
Congenial Reminder
This group is not meant as a shop for your material goods. A boudoir is a sleeping chamber or commonly known as a bedroom, not a boutique. Think art, portraiture, antiquity and NOT storefront, if you please.
Should you wish to join and your photostream is vacant of qualifying portraiture, then no reason is present for your membership. In other words, have photos ready in your stream that match BEFORE joining. If not, simply browse the images available without requesting to join.
Having demonstrated photographic worth, upon adding your work, please focus on the tantalizing and old-fashioned in captivating PEOPLE over clothing and accessories. This group is meant to display modern photography with a contemporary flair while reviving a bygone era of risqué portraiture reminiscent of quality, style, grace, and good old fashioned beauty.
Classical
Why a "Neo-Victorian Boudoir", you say? Allow me to elaborate: for those who have looked at better vintage portraiture of the fairer sex, and especially much of the early Ziegfield variety, there is a certain sense of feminine charm and quality of style. We witness an intent to capture classical beauty in finer dress and surroundings, often with naiveté and enchantment intact.

Refinement
While, like today, raunchy Victorian porn existed with all the sex appeal of fetid peaches in a used chamber pot, there were other images that established a certain classiness and refinement, enhanced by the gorgeous large format photography medium required in the day, and all to glorify the sumptuous grace of the singular female form.
Nature
More importantly, I'm particularly fond of past female portraiture as it focuses on women as they are in nature, complete with the soft curves and glowing skin combined with an inviting eye toward the allure of gentle visage and suggestion of the erotic.
Subtle
Who wants everything piled up overflowing on a bland platter as seen so often today? What's worse than too much or a sexy dance that carries on to boredom? The notion of the "Strip-Tease" is just that: a tease or subtle taste of mystery and charm that is behind the veil.
