About Neon "Extensions" (vintage signs)

This group is for those special vintage signs that have neon that extends off of the sign itself. That would be through design -- not disrepair. An outline around the sign or around a part of the sign will not be enough to merit inclusion in the group. But those arrows, stars, martinis, and any other shapes or figurative elements are certainly welcome if they are COMPOSED ENTIRELY OF NEON and are off the face of the sign itself. The delicacy and vulnerability of these "freestanding" neon pieces is what makes them so noteworthy and incredible.

This group is moderated to stem the flood of unsuitable submissions. However, even when I'm on the road, I accept / reject submissions at least a few times per day. If in doubt as to whether your sign photo belongs in this group, go ahead and submit it and I'll make the tough calls. Be on the lookout for more examples of these things in your wanderings around Flickr & send them this way. It's impossible to find this sort of thing through key word searches so I can really use your help. I hope you enjoy this special pool.
