About Neohistorism - New Classic Architecture and Reconstructions
Welcome! This is a showcase of new buildings built in a classical / traditional style, New Urbanism projects, neo historicist and reconstructed buildings.
Many people are tired of modern architecture or aren't satisfied with the architecture many modernists offer. Especially where heritage buildings, ensembles or old towns demand careful insertion of new buildings, modern architects often fail to satisfactory integrate their buildings. So we're facing a renaissance of historism lately. You also come across many reconstructions of gone buildings (esp. in Europe) - and now there's a new wave of future reconstructions in the pipeline.
Let's collect as many impressions of this development as possible in our pool!
This group covers:
- Buildings built after 1945 in a classical / traditional / historist style (from all over the world)
- Buildings of new styles using specific elements of traditional architecture, such as Neo-Eclectic Architecture or Colonial Revival Architecture
- Postmodern Architecture that features classical / traditional / historical elements
- New Urbanism projects (completed and future ones)
- Reconstructions of buildings after 1945 and plans / old photos of those
- Other photos that may fit this group (admins decide about those)
