About The Monthly Challenge Group
1 COMPETITION, 2 CHALLENGES, NO PRIZES, JUST FOR FUN - A NEW CHALLENGING CHALLENGE EACH MONTH

We are the sister group to the North East England Photographer's Group, which can be found here: www.flickr.com/groups/neepg/
You DO NOT have to be from North East England to take part in this group. The admins are based in the North East so will arrange meets for that area but feel free to arrange meets for people in your area too.
Challenges run all month. The challenge threads do not close but the aim is to try and do them in the month they are set. It's purely an exercise to get you thinking about photogaphy and seeing what you can do with a brief.
Don't forget to look at past challenges if you're new to the group
Try your hand at them to get a feel for the group. There's a handy link at the bottom to take you to the thread that lists them all.
Do not feel as though you have to take part each and every time.
There's going to be occassions when you don't have time to take part or you don't feel like it. That's ok. Just pop in and say hi. See what other people are doing. Say what you would have done, had you been able to. There is no pressure on members to take part in every challenge - especially as your admin won't be able to do every challenge either!
Non-challenge submissions to the pool should be of good quality
Please do not flood the pool with shots. Post up to 3, wait till someone else has posted and then add some more. Members are limited to posting 10 shots per day to the group pool.

GENERAL RULES:-
Photos MUST be family friendly.
Photos MUST be taken in the month the challenge is running.
If you are trying your hand at an old challenge, please take the shots specifically for it rather than relying on ones already in your photostream.
Submissions to the challenges should be posted in the group pool as well as the specified thread

SCAVENGER HUNTS
Each month, a list of shots to take will be posted. It is your job to collect all 13 shots and then turn it into a mosiac for submission to the challenge.
Substitutions
If, for any reason, you are unable to collect all 13 shots as per the list, you may substitute up to 3 of them for either:-
A shot you have taken in the past
OR
A shot on a smiliar theme.
BUT you will still need to have 10 shots taken in the month the challenge is set as per the list provided. If you do have to substitute a shot, you MUST state which shot and why when you post your submission.
Creating a Mosiac
Upload the photos to your photostream and into a set. When you have all thirteen images in the set in order 1-13, use the Mosaic Maker found at: bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php
You will have to allow the lab to link to your photo stream until you've completed making the mosaic.
Click on "Mosaic Maker".
Choose the 4x4 with Large Center layout.
In "Choose how you would like to select images" select "Flickr photoset"
Copy and paste the URL for the set into the field.
Upload the resulting mosaic to Flickr.
Post in the thread as per the instructions below.

HOW TO POST IN THE THREADS:-
To post a photo in the threads, whether for the competition or just to show off, do the following:-
Open Flickr in 2 windows - this will make it easier to past multiple shots into the comments box.
In window 1:-
open the photo you want to submit on your flickr page,
click on All Sizes
select Medium
under the image is a box of code, copy this
In window 2:-
Go to the Group page
open the thread, and paste the code into the comment box
If you want to add another shot to the comment, hit the return key to leave a couple of lines space and then go back to window 1 and repeat the process.
When you are finished pasting your shots into the comment box, click post now.
