About Nature Square - tag: naturesquare

Excellent nature photos and images, square format or cropped square.
For some nature photographs, a square format is ideal.
Parts of a whole objects are ideal for this treatment as are
some individual flowers.
In order to give a few examples, a series of images tagged with naturesquare has been created. This gives an idea of the type of images that are suitable for this group.

If you wish to post, please post no more than two photos a day.

It is not indended to grow the group by invites.
For those who wish to send Invites, invites to the group can be made by leaving comments on appropriate photos, together with a link to the group NatureSquare, along the lines of:

An excellent NatureSquare image.
This image is invited to the Nature Square tagged group
flickr.com/groups/naturesquare/
Your photo has been tagged naturesquare. Feel free to delete this if you do not want the image in this tagged group.
or
Please tag your photo naturesquare.

Resolution should be at least 500 x 500 pixels.

The initial aim is to create a set of excellent photos that can be viewed through search, rather than to create a large group pool.
Update October 2007: this seems to have been acheived.

As a guideline, ONLY NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY:

Nature photographs that show the details and the diversity of nature are particularly welcome. Flowers, trees, insects, birds, animals, landscapes, rocks, waterfalls and coastlines
There are plenty of other groups for sky, clouds and sunsets.

Please post only nature photographs. Please do not add images with people, buildings and man made objects.

All photographs that don't match these criteria will be removed.

If images are tagged naturesquare, they can all be viewed
using a tag search rather than a text search. The most recent photos tagged naturesquare are here:

The images may be of use in creating mosaics, but there are other groups for mosaics themselves.

This order is not the same as in Explore, but still highlights images with more views, comments and favorites.

There is no obligation to comment and favorite photos in the pool, though taking a browse through and commenting and or favoriting a few will be appreciated.

Other square photos may be more appropriate in the Square group.

Update on 25 October 2007: 239 images in pool (5 removed for not being square) 215 tagged naturesquare, 35 image makers. 1 group admin.

Update on 30 July 2009 - 1100 images in pool (another 5 removed for not being square), 120 image makers.
