About Nature's Little Hidden Wonders

The aim of this group is to focus on the wonders of nature that are so often trodden underfoot or passed by un-noticed.... the things that are hidden to the naked eye.
In particular we are interested in miniature flowers, insects and spiders, but please feel free to add any other of nature's tiny wonders.

We ask that you only add photos of things that are tiny. As a rough guide, the main subject of the picture should be no larger than 15mm.

To help us appreciate your miniature marvel, please add the size of the subject in the photo's description, as macro pictures usually look larger than life-size.

Despite our suggestion that your subject should be no larger than 15mm, it is only a guide.

One very often sees an insect or tiny flower but when photographed and enlarged one stands still at the beauty that escapes the naked eye. That is all what it is about - those things we cannot see without enlarging it.

As an example, please have a look at these photos.

First the plant as we see it
Just a bush with insignificant flowers

Then the enlarged version that reveals the beauty that the eye cannot see.
Tiny flowers in a bundle
It is not so much about size, it is about what is hidden to us untill we have a "closer" look
