It's only 30 min from where I live, every time I go there it is so different. But this one is one of my favorites as it looks like it was taken on a different planet. You only get this when there is no clouds so winter is the best time....and yes, it was chilly.

I was in the Everglades a couple of weeks ago. After a day of fishing, we looked at the radar and saw that a huge storm was runnin north of the glades. We hopped in the car and drove a couple of miles to get to an open area to find this photo.
This is the shot that I've been wanting for quite some time.

This is my most popular shot.
I had to travel 800 km to this mountain lake, where the autumn gets its best!.
I managed to surround this lake, and get the huge volcano into the pic. I had to put the tripod a bit in the water.
The light was OK, but the colors were contrasted between green shadows on the right, and the snow of the Lanin volcano. The light difference was to extreme, so I made three bracketing shots and used HDR to level.

I am new to this game, this was my 4 HDR exsposure i have done & my first HDR landscape so I am well stoked with all the positive feedback & for the invites into awesome groups like these :) I really do feel privileged to be included with such fine photos above! Great work all!!!
I met an Austrian friend here where he has lived on his boat docked on this jetty for the past 12 years in Samoa… What a life! He later described that the sunset we were about to witness was the one of the best he had seen in 12 years! Just my luck, I had a dead battery, no memory space & forgot the tripod! Well I have great memories at least ;) wOw the mars reds & blues were out of this world! Best i have ever seen for sure!

I love this shot because it reminds me of a maxfield parrish painting. It came out of the camera almost as you see it. I think I increased the saturation just a tad. but the rainbow effect was there and it has a spiritual feeling.

Spotted this on the banks of the river Shannon in the middle of rural Ireland. I thought it looked more exotic than rural Ireland and, especially with the cow, made me think of a pastoral scene in India.

This are 2 infrared photos added to one (not an HDRi) photo, same camera position, longexposure, all settings manual.
All you see here is invisible - believe it - really invisible for human eyes! This are all reflected lightrays below 850nm (nm = nanometer), the light wavelenght of the blocking filter. A view with dogs eyes - dogs can see infrared.
Humans can "see" only lightrays between ~~320 to 600/650nm.
300-320 are blue colors(short lightwaves) and 500-600nm are red colors (long lightwaves).

As many of my photos, these ones were taken in the Alps of Southern Tyrol, in the North-East of Italy.
In the first one I love the light from the clouds on the mountains. It was a very lucky shoot, taken for chance after a storm.
The second (also taken after a storm) has a very misterious aspect, with that clouds in the valley. It shows the fearful side of the nature.
In the last one I like the fantastic colours of that sunset: blue, dark gray, orange, pink and yellow all together.

Kerlingafjöll.
The mountains are noted for good snow conditions in the summer. Here is fine skiing on majestic sweep of snow-clad slopes.
Kerlingafjöll, a colourful range of rhyloite mountains, their highest peak rising 1477m. This is a true mountain wilderness of spectacular peaks, canyons and hidden here are strange and colourful thermal areas. Exploring here on foot is the only way, brings the thrills of all sorts of unexpected discoveries.
Due to the Kerlingafjöll´s relative central location on the plateau and their height above the surroundings, their peaks are famed viewpoints, there are extensive views of mountains of all sizes and shapes, the two ice fields Langjökull and Hofsjökull and the terrain to the north and south. Many hot springs are active on the slopes and in the ravines and in several places here are solfataras.

This photo (below) of Mont Blanc was taken last January (2007) from a chalet in Courmayeur, Italy. There was little snow at that time but we were lucky enough to see some toward the end of our stay.... it was SO beautiful! I like this photo because it is easy to see the high winds at the top of the mountain that created little 'mini-blizzards' resembling swirlling clouds from a distance, really spectacular and hard to capture from our balcony without a good zoom lens!

Thanks for the great description! Here it is in English, too:
View of Mt. König Watzmann (King Watzman) (2713 m) while on a hike from Maria Gern to the Kneifelspitze. The Watzmann is the second-highest mountain of Germany and a landmark of Upper Bavaria. Numerous hiking & climbing routes go from Berchtesgaden up to 'His Majesty'. An alternative for those less able to walk would be to take the boat over the Königssee (King's lake).
Directions: take the A8 Munich-Salzburg, then on to the B20 to Berchtesgaden..
I live 35 minutes away and often enjoy the beautiful view.
