About Nature Morte - Still life photography

Nature Morte (French for still life) is an art form which is devoted to the pictorial representation of inanimate objects, such as flowers, fruit, dead animals and tableware.
Even so still life painting was already popular among the ancient Greeks and Romans (who also made still life mosaics) it did not become established as a separate genre of painting before the 17th century, after it reappeared during the Renaissance, flourishing first in the Netherlands, where the Reformation had discouraged religious imagery and artists were seeking new subjects. The term still life derives also from this time, from the Dutch still-leven, meaning a motionless natural object or objects.
Still lifes enchant through well-thought composition, skilful and delicate use of form, color and lightning. With the invention of photography in the 19th century still life became a popular subject in this genre as well.

Nature Morte - Still life photography is a spin-off of Simple yet elegant but limited to professional looking still life photography.

Composition, use of lightning, color and DoF should to be well-thought and follow a noticeable concept. As well as simple yet elegant are still desirable characteristics to be part of this group.

Every image must have that certain something that makes it outstanding.

And we do want to see high quality. So please add only your best shots and not more than one a day!

I know that these are high standards and that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder but I want to create a spledid collection of still lifes here. Therefore will all images that do not hit the criteria be deleted by the admistration of this group without notice.
