About Natural PATTERNS, Shapes, and Textures (moderated)

Please post photos of non-man-made patterns and natural abstracts. Pattern, shape, and texture are photographic design elements (others are line, form, color, and light).

Pattern: symmetry or repetition

Shape: two-dimensional geometric shapes (circles, squares, stars, etc)

Texture: a very small reduction of pattern - NOT just something rough or smooth.

An excellent book on design, color, and composition in photography is, "Learning to See Creatively" by Bryan Peterson.

This group is moderated to ensure high quality and make people want to browse the photos, so if you want your photo accepted, please follow the Rules! Most photos (even really good ones) are rejected because they do not follow the rules or fit the theme, so please do not take rejection personally.
