About The National Road

This group will include photographs of the Historic National Road, between Baltimore, Maryland and Vandalia, Illinois. Photographs of anything directly adjacent to the road are acceptable, though please be reasonable. The National Road is also sometimes referred to as the Cumberland Road or National Pike.

Route 40 follows the same route as the National Road in some areas, but in many areas, it does not. Please limit Route 40 photographs to those areas reasonably adjacent to the National Road.
