01 Oct 07 - Welcome to Nalbinding Nutters! When posting photos, please include the type of yarn you used, the stitch type, and where you got your pattern from, if at all possible. Thanks much!

About Nalbinding Nutters

This group is devoted to the nearly dying craft that goes by numerous names. Nalbinding has been around possibly since the neolithic period, and its practitioners were once worldwide until knitting and crochet nearly replaced it. Archaeological evidence of the craft has been found in Scandinavia, Egypt, Peru, etc. Today reenactment groups like the SCA are helping to keep the craft alive.

When posting photos, please tell us which stitch you used, what kind of yarn, and links to the pattern if it exists.

Other names for nalbinding: naalbinden, naalbinding, nålbinding, nadelbinden, naalbinden, nålebinding, nalbindning, knotless netting, toothbrush rugs, looped needle netting, viking wire knitting, and many others.

There are discussion groups available for this craft on Yahoo Groups and Ravelry at:
